The film is a comedy based on the life-story of Director Paul Wayland and his Bar mitzvah on the day England won the football world cup in 1966. Short of funds, Paul's family couldn't afford a lavish "coming of age" party and few guests came because it was such an important day for the National team.
Filmed in October 2005, Wraggle Taggle members play the part of an Irish band who turned up to entertain during the party. The bandleader is played by Irish actor Sean McGinley. The film also stars Catherine Tate and Helena Bonham Carter and is due to be released around the time of the 2006 World cup, 40 years after the events portrayed. |
