Dave Brown: Fiddle,
Dave's father's family are from Donegal in the North West of Ireland, a county renowned for fiddle playing.
He was imbibed with a sense of enjoyment of Irish music being brought round sessions in Donegal and around his home at Egham to the West of London, England. Born 1979 in Ashford, Middlesex, Dave started on the violin at the age of 8, and by the time he was 12 he was playing in Surrey Youth Orchestra.
In the 90s and at the suggestion of one of his history teachers, Allison Ellicot, Dave studied traditional fiddle with her at the headquarters of the English Folk Dance and Song Society, Cecil Sharpe House, Camden Town, London. He further developed his interest in traditional Irish fiddle playing with Aiden McCormack, Mick O'Connor and Joe
Cahill at the long - running session at The Railway, Hampton Wick.
From the end of the nineties Dave played with "Crewneck Ceilidh Band" as well as with Irish pub bands "A few too many" and "Bang On". He toured in Ireland and France and, for four years, organized the popular session at The Holly tree, Englefield Green, Surrey.
