Mick O'Connor meets Irish President Mary McAleese
Wraggle Taggle tenor banjo player Mick O'Connor was delighted to be invited to meet Irish President Mary McAleese at a special reception to celebrate local traditional musicians throughout Ireland at her official residence Áras an Uachtaráin in Phoenix Park, Dublin on Wednesday 21st April 2004.
  Other guests included Mairéad Ni Mhaonaigh, fiddle player and vocalist with top traditional band, Altan, well respected concerina player Noel Hill and memebers of Clannad, Pádraig and Noel Ó Dúgáin. Veteran RTE traditional music presenter Ciarán McMahuna also met the president as did former Stockton's Wing
banjo player Kieran Hanrahan who now presents RTE traditional music programme Ceili House.
  Mick also met many talented musical friends including fiddle player Brendan McClinchy, flute player, Roger Shirlock who Mick played with in The Thatch Ceili Band and banjo player Liam Farrell who also now lives in London.

  Mick joined Wraggle Taggle in 1997 in a continuing career in which he has become a popular and well known figure in traditional Irish music circles.
