Micks support bra-clad "Moonwalk"
Wraggle Taggle tenor banjo player Mick O'Connor and bandleader Mick Bailey supported bra-clad breast cancer London fund raiser "Moonwalk" two years running in May 2004 and June 2005. In 2004 the duo were at Cannon Street station from 4.30am and in 2005 they were at Fruiterers Passage, under Southwark Bridge, London from 5.30am. An estimated 15,000 women left Hyde park at midnight each year to power walk through the night on a marathon length 26.2 mile course . The duo provided an uplifting experience at the 21 mile mark to raise smiles on tired faces with their renditions of "Is this the way to Amorillo?", "These boots are made for walking","Just want to Walk the night away", "Hit the road Jack", "Bare Necessities" and "La Bamba / Twist & Shout".

Charity "Walk the Walk", which organized the event, came into being when just 13 women power walked The New York Marathon in decorated bras to raise money and awareness for breast cancer research. What started out as a once only fund raising event, has blossomed into a thriving charity.
|
The charity was founded by New Yorker Nina Barough and lead to supporters power walking the London Marathon in 1997.
The Moonwalk has since become a major annual event in its own right.
